Where have all the Products Gone: Made in the USA?
Where have all the American made products gone? Do we get so busy that Walmart's China infested products are just such a convenience?
Have we lost faith in our country to product a viable good? I am trying to search for answers on why we as consumers do not buy American products. Is it because all of this is overseas? If you answered yes to some/all the questions you may actually be surprised which ones could in fact be answered NO.
I started this research a month ago and I am hoping our forum can build upon my findings because a month is just not long enough to identify all the companies that strictly make and sell in the USA.
I found 7 companies that make Socks in the USA. You can view the results and add to the results here
We found 20 companies that make mens apparel. Most of these were Union made too. We identified several companies dealing with shoes, ties.
I will be building upon this blog on this topic and this will be an ongoing project of mine however, I invite stores, consumers, B2B firms, anyone who uses this site to help identify Made in the USA products and report your findings here.
Now the real question is: Will YOU continue your consumer habits or will YOU try and buy American made products. My guess is that most of you will continue your shopping habits. But the consequences of your actions are starting to show in our daily lives. Look at where most of us spend our money and where the products are made. I know I will go out of my and make a conscientious habit to buy American Made Products. Remember to help ourselves by buying Made in the USA.
