Overcome the Loss of Voltage over Long Power Cable Runs to a Surveillance Camera

For security installations that require long runs between a monitor or DVR and the surveillance cameras, often times the cameras may fail or stop working completely as a result of DC voltage (power) loss to the camera. The Enforcer Voltage Booster overcomes this issue, by adding up to 500mA of power to a wire that doesn’t have enough gauge (wire thickness) to maintain the correct voltage over a long run. A typical application would require running 12VDC to a camera located 300′ from the power source. The maximum wiring distance for 12VDC@250mA would normally be approximately 90 feet. After 90 feet the voltage will start to drop below 12VDC. Installing the Enforcer Voltage Booster at the camera end of long wiring runs can greatly increase the maximum wiring distance. This device will work with both 12VDC and 24VDC installations. Built-in LED indicator light let you know what voltage you are working with and whether input power is connected. As an added feature this device also has built-in overload and short circuit protection.
