Check out this cheap solution for additional Wireless coverage for your home / office.

If your like most folks you need additional wireless coverage in your basement or bonus room or some other room in your home. This also works for areas like your TV where you might not have a network cable run. You can hook up your PS3, slingbox, locationfree to this device via a network wire and let the bridge that we create send the data via wireless.
I can save you money by not having to buy one of those expensive devices they call a bridge. Follow these simple steps and you will be on your way to an inexpensive wireless solution.

1. Go out to dd-wrt.com site and do the follow 2 steps:
A. Go to the supported device page on dd-wrt.com site. http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices
You will check for a device typically WRT-54G with a version number that is supported. Later the better usually.
B. Download the lastest stable code at http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv3/dd-wrt/downloads.html. At the time of this writing version v24-sp1 is current.

2. Go out to Amazon and search for wrt-54g. I recommend dealing with an individual that can provide the version number. (I purchased a used one for my needs. Save $10 and it was the version I needed.) Or you can follow this link Cisco-Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G Router You will be putting the .bin file from the dd-wrt site onto this device to make it a bridge. Easier then it sounds. 3. Once receive access point log in like normal and go to the tab where you perform a firmware update. First flash with the mini.bin from dd-wrt. Then you can go to the std.bin or whatever other bin you want for those features.

4. Now log into your dd-wrt with the username root pass admin. Go to the wireless tab and select Bridge from the drop down. Make sure you make your setting like SSID and key the same as your access point. You now have a working wireless bridge for half the cost. Go to status button and do a site survey. Find your access point and select Join. This will join your bridge to the access point.

5. If you want wireless access in this new area just add another access point (AP) and use a network cable from the wan interface on the AP to the Lan interface on the bridge. If you have located this near your PlayStation 3 80 GB , Sling Media Slingbox SOLO (SB260-100) , or Sony LF-B10 LocationFree Base Station device just plug in via network cable.
